Situational Awareness
The possibilities of my current livinng situation really mirror those of 24weeks.
- cohousing, coworking, green/renewable resources, sustainable agriculture
- lots of ideas and resources to implement them, but too few laborrs to bootstrap
- can lead to failure/waste
- resources could be used to compensate for future hyper-inflated property values/taxes
- the future looks dim as local property values rise to beyond the affordability of taxes
- over $3000/yr in property/school taxes
- expected to rise with property values
- when taxes get to high, my family well sell most of the property/resources
- game over
- rural location makes collaboration difficult
- lack of broadband internet access
- makes coworking opportunities impossible
- makes ESP/24Weeks collaboration difficult
- lack of broadband internet access
What bums me out is having the resources to do some really neat stuff but unable to do anything with it all by myself. Broadband can bootstrap coworking opportunities, Day Riva can provide resources to pay taxes and broadband, which can facilitate coworking. Arthur Hull shows how facilitated community drumming can foster better collaboration in corporate situations, so perhaps working in a primitive environment to build a collaborative space "from scratch" can do something similar.
- This wiki
- should be an espian-centric wiki, not a 24weeks-centric wiki
- 24weeks will come and go but espians will always be around in one form or another
- lots of pages with no connections
- difficult to find related info between pages
- pre-defined structures to promote collaboration created without collaboraton
- to me, the overall wiki structure seems as chaotic as User:Entrepreneur76 contributions
- others have noticed difficulty in finding info
- I'm still not sure about the 24weeks.com (blog) site
- doesn't seem very useful to me or as a potential collaborator
- do I look for info on the wiki or blog?
- probably neither, but have fun trying
- "Contents · Categories · Featured content · A–Z index" on main page
- they aren't even links
- "Categories" itself may give visitors some scope
- categories aren't widely used
- categories could be the basis for tags to be used in IRC
- should be an espian-centric wiki, not a 24weeks-centric wiki
FarceBroke
Removed myself from FB last week. Why? It's a toy, and not a very fun one at that. Not usable enough to waste dialup bandwidth. Add as many "applications" to it as possible, it'd still be a pile of garbage. I hope the school kits enjoy it. Many potential participants aren't using FB _OR_ IRC. How's THAT for collaboration? How an I supposed to be excited about the "tools" and "processes" being "used"? Noobs get woodies hearing about 24weeks, but it's not even an inflatable sheep doll. Someone may be taking pre-orders based on what the design team is designing.
Bootstrap Plexchange
One last time:
- Track tasks and assign pecu values to each, even if it is a game.
- use google spreadsheet for accounting (double-entry book-keeping)
- play the game
