Mapping Games People Play

Facebook makes pics easy - so emergent mapping games there are: micro game 1-why the world's most vital social network map start up with understanding triangle's triple helix (three-in-one is minimum truth mediator of hi-trust human relations, as well as geographical coordination)

Q&A -dedication Delhi 2004, launch of white papers on the sustainability's exponential wars between goodwill and badwill networks

q1 what makes a good map for a user:

  • burning relevant context for the user whether its how to get to other side of town or how to see where to connect with the world's most human hubs of peer to peer learning – alltime top 10s are a useful starting place – by definition maps are useless without context, and prioritise 10 connections to see first is a way to make context 360 degrees explicit – what are the top 10 cities in the world? At a more iterative level, trust mapping empowers media transparency and curiosity – how have we defined top, and is everyone participating in nominating, or is this some PR game to badwill maps where truth is inconvenient?
  • empowering the user to get onto the map & do interaction now: you are here; and start connecting; - the routes it offers multiply hi-trust flows- what's at the destination is safe, helpful, collaborative, emotionally energising
  • compounding whole system transparency in ways that spreadsheets of numbers do not connect; a map’s value is always grounded in deep detail even if you are using it to worldwide network ; truth integration is a local up maths not a global monopoly’s inconvenient standardisation

q1.1 what are meta-collaboration's most burning contexts?

q2 - what makes a good enough mapmaker

  • being at the hub of true information flows –which begs the question- how on earth did you hub or earn that communal right
  • knowing how you and other mapmakers have become such pivotal flow nodes and not whining at the extra work that will "openly" pass through your laptop or neurally networked brain
  • not blocking diversity of flow just because I can's see why I would want to make that connection whilst always double-checking the safety of connections the map you update is facilitating people to make

q3 can technology help with maps?

  • sure but as a mathematician I have never yet seen a good enough mapping format that hasn't first been integrated by hand, and tested by communities for whether its simplifying the most valuable coordinates first- remember maps we print out are 2 dimensional simplifications of a context which has far more potential exchanges than that- example 24's "culture map" of collaboration change networks-

dimension 1 might be how urgent is the deepest practice context uniting this network's collaboration flows versus how continuous but non-urgent do members see their relationship permissions

dimension 2 might be is the most deep searching for truth in this context driven by hi-touch peer to peer exchanges or hi-tech quantitative searches

what would you vote for your first 2-dimensional map to be conditioned by?
