June 4th meeting

In attendance:

Purpose of meeting:

  • To find a way to work with the 24weeks project, regardless of who comes and goes. (This was in the context of Tav having taken a vacation, and no-one really knowing what was going to happen next, but wanting to contine to be engaged with the project, and to keep things moving.)

Meeting was chaired by: Farhan Rehman

Agenda:

  • 2=> New structure: legal, financial, organisation (resources & skills)

1=> People's experience of the project

  • Mamading: (not noted... but feel free to fill it in here if you remember what was said)
  • Nadine: goes to Germany tonight, she is involved at 100% into 24 weeks (IRC and virtual phone while in Germany), she needs to go to Germany because she needs cash now.
  • Farhan: worked on a project very similar to 24 weeks for the past two and a half years. He has work and can get paid for it but, still, wants to be involved in 24 weeks. He wants the financial situation cleared. He wants people's work to be tracked (with PECUs for example) and a way to deal with it financially when cash will come in. He is open to create things.
  • Guilhem: has no other source of income and is sure that the project has a huge potential. And won't quit, no fucking way.
  • Elise: doesn't really know what's the project about but sees that a project manager is needed.
  • Mark: the coming month will be critical to must.tv existence. Mark needs a website online with a questionnaire by the next 10/15 days. Two teams will start working on the project, one next week and one the week before. Mark thinks that now it's gonna be about sequecing and synchronisation (project management!), and ressources and their skills.

Potential of ESPRA according to everyone:

  • Farhan: a group wisdom that brings solutions (or "something") in our world.
  • Nadine: wants to prove that this system can work and wants to make it accessible (in terms of communication to start: understandable)
  • Mamading: wants to make the cultural creatives benefit a collaborative network for social justice and sustainability.
  • Will: wants to help people to have a place where things would be accessible
  • Mark: thinks that it's for the benefit of the world and thinks that we can do it.
  • Elise: hive intelligence: seek and give intelligence.

2=> New structure: legal, financial, organisation (resource & skills)

We could use Will's company bank account and legal structure for the moment. Organisation is simple: we will work on client projects following project management organisation.


3=> Short and long term strategy

We have to focus on applications. 24 weeks has to communicate on Espra and deliver a framework at the end of the project. Do some client work to bring cash in. Nadine and T have the responsibility of the website. We HAVE to use PECUs as retribution. For the moment, we have to build ESPRA the way clients want. For that , we will offer clients a website with an Espra opening.

Communication channels for the moment: chat room (irc on #esp, #esp-core and #24 weeks), "phone" (Skype, telekomunisten?) and mailing list.


4=> Practical steps

Meeting with e-Gaia on wednesday evening to explain to them that we can do it. They need collaborative workers, we can help them. We should, at some point, fix the goals (the billion dollar company)?

See who is involved, what is their speciality, where are they???

Who Tav promised things to? What are those things?

Create an asset list, the first of all being Chris Macrae.
