As a mathematician and mapmaker, I am comforted by at least 2 reasons why all empowerment transformations begin with messy conversations;
1 email to change world : the "to" "cc" and "bcc" (& ..) circulation list selected for launching a messy conversation intercats a start-up "trust map" and context; those who stay in prove theit collaboration interest and those who mkistake mess for spam are email or transparency mapping illiterate imo (yes I could give you a day's training on why I say that but it would be all to do with ensuring that there wasn't even one hi-conflict person in a group I had invited to connect- a topic of utmost value to transparency advisers if nobody else) 2 In a one day circle I attended Meg Wheatley - the longest running mentor of pioneers - has various pattern rules. One if you are trying to engae a powerful leader in a truly pioneering empwerment, dont con yourself. Unless you guide a leader into mess and he loves the new loss of control, he will be your team or network's biggest future conflict

Moreover I see JB mentions Uganda- a country which is mobilising around end malaria now with their health minsister's recent article in the wall street journal and probabilities of some nationwide relay walk later in the year according to some of PB's deep correspondents on malaria

MG - I want to explore any ways TEN could help NED. The idea that comes most immediately to mind is that we could help NED sell the LiA products. Given the war-slavery connection in Northern Uganda LiA is certianly within our mission which includes working with both rehabilitation and prevention programs. If you have excess inventory we could start selling it at Emancipation Imports, in our website, and in our next catalog. We also have a really good PR team that might be able to get some national press about the LiA products if we were selling them. That is just one, easy to start idea. I would also be interested in exploring other ways we can bring other anti-slavery partners into NED, or any other ideas you have.

The <Ned> site is going to start having single small scale projects, one per month, that site visitors can fund. Something on the scale of $500-$1,500 that would be meaningful to the group, something that people could see pix of online, and done fairly quickly. If you have something with one of the TEN partners that could be highlighted like that, we could do that and see if that would help raise funds. Also if you get me a sponsor button with the TEN logo, we can add you in as a sponsor...until the paid sponsors line up in droves of course. If interested just ask and I can get the ad unit specs.
