  1. The Daily Shaila template

CX Post

As Chief Shailar, I bring you a template for a daily shaila, which will be a “contextual summary” of all that is esp. Historicaly, shailas are used to keep offline espians informed of the goings on in #esp (in IRC) via email. I will post examples of previous shailas soon, so everyone understands the concept, but it’s really just an outline using consistant topics/tags.

Now that there are more avenues to communicate than IRC, some method is needed to summarize the happenings in each. Could we get a volunteer from each service to do this? There will be discussion of this, and more, in IRC tomorrow (30 May 2007), but we could have a “shailar orientation” to get things rolling.

I’ve posted https://projects.espnow.com/24weeks/wiki/ShailaExample. Don’t bother trying to follow most of the links, think of it as an example. One interesting bit is that I’ve posted revision 10 of this “core dev summary shaila” to show that one may create new shailas for each day/event, or as with this one, keep changing 1 document every day and allow access to the history as diffs or previous versions.

Let me know if those aren’t accessible. We’re discussing wikis and web presence in #esp today.

I just finished reformatting another example shaila, which you can find on the new wiki at http://wiki.espians.com/ShailaExample. I’m sure you’ll find it more useful than the previous example.
